Our Carrot Seed Essential Oil is obtained by steam distillation of the seeds and fruit of the plant. The edible root we all eat now was cultivated by the Dutch in the 17th century. The plant is thought to have originated in Afghanistan. This oil is non-staining and enjoys the characteristic smell of carrots!

1. Carrot Seed is a highly beneficial oil for the skin. It is often blended into a base cream or lotion to help encourage cell growth and skin rejuvenation. Many see Carrot Seed as being the perfect oil to help generally enhance, soften and smooth skin. It is a good oil for combating cellulite leaves skin looking firmer and smoother.

2. Aromatherapists may use carrot seed oil in massage blends to help relieve muscle pains. It is also believed that the oil can help in cases of a malfunctioning liver or to help the respiratory tract.

3. The oil can be used to help detoxify the body and to encourage the production of healthy red blood cells.

We have found that Carrot Seed oil blends particularly well with Bergamot, Cedarwood, most Citrus oils, Geranium, Juniper Berry and Lavender.

Usage:

• Baths: 4-8 drops of oil should be blended in a teaspoon of carrier oil and added to the bath
• Massages: 2-4 drops of essential oils should be added to to 1 tablespoonful of carrier oil
• Vaporisation: 3-5 drops of essential oil should be added to a burner, aroma stone or aroma stream
