What is Feverfew?
Feverfew is also called febrifuge or featherfew. It is a distinctive plant that grows into a bush with yellow and white flowers that look very similar to daisies. The strong scent of the flower acts as a natural repellent to insects. However, it is the leaves of the plant that are used in natural remedies.
For centuries, feverfew has been used in traditional health remedies because of the benefits it can offer. It is cultivated mainly in Europe and North America. The name of the plant gives a clue as to what it can do. Feverfew derives from a latin word “febri fugia”, which means ‘fever reducer”.
